1. When choosing your target market in the plethora of industries online, it’s really important that you niche down. In other words if you like beauty, choose to focus on beauty for the face. Or even more niche than that, lipsticks, or eyeshadows used in india. Do you get my drift?
2. Go for something you’re passionate about or ‘fanatical’ stuff, or hobbies. Check out what’s trending on the market. Pick your micro niche with a great demand and you’ve started well.
3. Now, you first need to get your Domain Name. This should be related to your niche, keep it nice and short and try to avoid dashes eg sausages-for-you.com
4. Domain names are less than $10.00 anything over and you’re wasting money, try namecheap.com or godaddy. Look around, there are loads on the market.
5. Now when it comes to hosting, I recommend hostgator, that’s what I use and they have a great reputation If you have any queries, they’re online help is fantastic and they will help to resolve that query on the spot!.
6. For your blogging, use Wordpress. It’s free and can be learnt very quickly. There are also 100’s of free templates and themes and plugins which you can use. Nowadays you don’t need to know html. If you’re looking to do affiliate marketing check out fastincomesystems4u.
7. Now, it’s crucial and I cant emphasize it enough it is is vital as an internet marketing newbie to build a list. This is the lifeblood of every successful marketer. The Relationship that you build with your list is Gold. Separate your prospect list from your buyer list, know the ones who will keep buying from you. As it’s averaged out that one name on your list represents $1.00. So do the math.

8. Write up a free report that gives value. Give it away as an incentive for people signing into your squeeze page or opt in box. Research the most effective squeeze pages. You can either write an ebook, or an create a video. Outsource the task or easier still visit master-resale-rights.com, purchase a $3.00 to $5.00 book and re-write it with your branding.
9. Create an autoresponder series with Aweber or Get Response, most reputable in the industry, and email your list every 2 days or 4-7 days on automation. Sign up to what the big boys are doing and look at the way they’ve crafted their emails, when you receive them in your inbox.
10. Write quality unique content for your site. If you can write an email you can write unique content for your site. Write content that solves people’s problems, avoid duplicate content google doesn’t like it.
11. Publishing your articles on other sites is a good idea. When you write an article for your site, rewrite it and then submit it to various rticle sites
12. Learn everything you can about FREE Traffic. Learn keyword research. It will put you ahead of the competition.
13. Create and generate quality backlinks that are relevant to your niche. Don’t waste time getting links on junk sites.
14. Keep on educating yourself from the Top Marketers. Copywriting, email marketing, site design, squeeze pages, lead generation techniques simply by seeing what the top people are doing. Look at Headlines… gveaways… squeeze page designs.
15. How many email lists are you on? When you get a compelling email from a “guru” focus think what’s magnetic about this..
16. Use their story as a template
17. Use your personal info or pseudoname
18. Using short paragraphs
19. Look at where they place their links
20. Look at the language they use to make their offer time sensitive?
21. They do not try to re-invent the wheel. They are using templates and formats that are tried and tested. They work it…Because it works!
22. Use leverage! Outsource these tasks to experts. Save your money and especially time!
23. 14. Have a Strategy and implement it
24. Keep a diary and each day write down everything you need to get accomplished that day as well as the next day. Then focus and complete each one. ‘Eat the frog’ ie the one you perceive as being the most difficult then all the others will appear easy!
25. Your daily tasks can be timetabled and be as easy as :
26. Read and organize your emails – 30 Minutes,
27. Get 5 Quality Backlinks – 10 Minutes
28. Write a quality post or Article – 30 Minutes
29. Visit Forums and make posts (with signature line, this will have your link next to it) – 15 Minutes
30. Document for two weeks everything that you do, identify your constraints and eliminate them (example spending time on mindless tasks, talking on the phone to friends) . Then create your ‘to do’ list. Be efficient. You’ll be surprised at how much work you can do when you work with a ‘to do’ list in front of you AND most of all do not get distracted by the bright and shiny objects in your mailbox! Focus on one thing and follow through. Remember product + traffic =cash.

So get cracking and leave the title of ‘internet marketing newbies’ behind you!!!

“The “Double opt-in vs Single opt-in” argument is as old as my grandma’s radio.  Some say it’s better to use Single opt-in because often only about 50% of people confirm, which means you get half of the leads you actually generate.

Others agree that Double opt-in is a smart move in a long run since response rates are much higher and there’s no way to get in trouble for SPAM, since the prospect has to double-confirm that he wants to be on your list.

During a recent list building event, Ryan Deiss shared an insight on the issue. He said that he always uses single opt-in, because at the end of the day-he makes more money that way.  The young guru says that by driving more “instant” traffic to his offers-he is able to get more “customer” signups which are far more responsive than the regular “I’ll download your stuff for free” peeps.

On the other hand the hottest list building video course Frank Kern’s “List Control” goes to teach us that you should always use Double Confirmation. Frank Kern, the man behind Mass Control, StomperNet and numerous other successful launches believes that by having a double opt-in list-you’re going to make more money in the long run.

Discovering this for the first time, your mind doesn’t know where to go-which Guru to listen to?! But in reality, there’s no better teacher than experience, don’t you agree? Earlier on, my life taught me a lesson to always use double confirmation-the hard way!

Starting out to build my list, I used single opt-in and eventually, after couple of month of driving traffic-I got to a point where I had 1000 subscribers. Imagine my astonishment when I realized that each time I was sending an email to my list-I was getting only about 30 opens and 5 clicks… It was a horrible feeling to come to a conclusion that most of my list consists of junk mail and addresses that didn’t exist.

Today I know that if I’d use double confirmation this would not have happened. That’s why since then and onwards I always go with double opt-in. Did I consider going back to single opt-in after hearing Ryan Deiss talk? Sure, but the fear of having a dead list is by far more persuasive than a guru… So, what came first-the chicken or the egg? It’s up to you decide. Are you after instant profits, or are you willing to sacrifice a few dollars for a definite long term success? Your call!”

Today, I got to thinking about the different internet business model types …and so I  found this great little article on this topic…maybe it’ll have you thinking too….

There are many different methods of making an online income. In reality, they are all very similar to the business models you see in the offline world. You can sell goods and services, you can produce products for wholesale distribution, you can sell information, you can sell tools to help people in their own business model, you can sell advertising, or you can provide consulting services.

Do you see a common theme in all of these models? That’s right—to have a viable business, you have to literally provide some kind of a good or service that adds value to someone or something, either online or offline.

I think that when people think about going into business offline, they look for a need in their community and try to fill it. Online, they tend to think, OK, what can I do to make a lot of money? There is a huge difference between the two. Online, I think people really believe that if they put up a web site and sell something, the money will just come in. It is simply not an accurate thought, but I think that just about everybody has thought it at one time or another.

So to create an income online, you must meet a need, just like you would in the offline world. You meet that need by producing, developing, distributing, or brokering a product or service. That is just about it. You will never earn long-term viable income from schemes and scams, no more than a bank robber will earn a long-term viable income robbing banks.

Here are some of the basic online business models you can find on the web…

1) Production model. This is a company that produces value by transforming one good into another for online consumption. An offline equivalent would be a shoemaker or a gold mining firm. The online equivalent might be the development of new software or search technology, or the development of online technology that aids in the execution of some of the other online business models.

2) Merchant model. This is a company that specializes in the sales and organizes the delivery of goods and services to an online market. This can be compared to the offline equivalent of a merchant. Some examples online are bookstores, food stores, catalog web sites and other goods and services sales organizations.

3) Advertising model. This is a company that specializes in providing the service of advertising or promotion to other online firms, for example, those firms that operate using the production or merchant model. This model charges these companies a fee to advertise the goods and services provided by the other online business models.

4) Affiliate model. This is a model that resembles the advertising model, but is different in that it focuses on recruiting many individual companies or individuals to do the advertising in a systematic and piecemeal way. Whereas in the advertising model, the advertiser is paid based on the amount of advertising distributed, the affiliate model pays the affiliate marketer when a sale or step in a sales process is completed. This step may be an online visit, a request for more information, or the actual sale itself.

5) Brokerage model. This model is one that compensates the broker for bringing together buyer and seller, usually in the form of a personal, one-on-one introduction. An example of this might be an online auction or a processor of online payments.

6) Information model. The information business model is one in which the company provides information to a specific field or niche market. This information would typically instruct another company or individual on an easier or more efficient method of performing a task, or actually teach the task or the implementation of the task.

7) Subscription model. This is an overlay model, one which is generally incorporated into one of the other models. This model would provide a good or service over a protracted period of time, and provide a guaranteed and generally consistent level of that good or service for a period of time, for example over the course of several months. Two products that fit into this subscription model might be that of online monthly video rentals or services like food or medicines which are delivered on a regular basis by commitment.

Utility model. This model operates in much the same way as an offline utility might operate, offering a product that has, through its use, become a necessity and is often tightly controlled. An example of an online utility model would be that of internet access or telephone service via an online network.

9) Community model. This is a business model that focuses on bringing together individuals or companies of similar interest for the purpose of developing relationships and sharing information. Two examples of the community web phenomenon are the recently created Myspace and the older online forum.

When deciding to go into business online, it is important to determine which of these business models most interest you. To which of these models are you best suited? In which of these models are you most likely to be considered an expert, or in which would you have the willingness to become an expert?
